What a year it's been!

Wow. What a year it's been. What a bonkers world we live in!

It seems everything has been turned on its head and what was once common sense and obvious is no longer common or obvious at all. The simple has been grossly complicated, while pure evil has been flaunted and embraced as a badge of bravery and honor. Then, add in a worldwide pandemic that has forever changed families, lives, and lifestyles forever and it really makes things bonkers...especially when people are dying or living with life-altering symptoms every day while others still insist its a hoax, a made-up political agenda, and anything other than what it is...a public health crisis.

I know I'm not alone in saying this past year, especially since the world turned upside down with Covid, that we've been forced to take a step back, reevaluate what is truly important, and look at life through a different lens.

One year ago at this time, the world went nuts and life as we had ever known it was forever changed. We all thought it would only last a week or two and it would all blow over and life would go back to normal. All the basic survival and comfort items that we all take for granted...like toilet paper and paper towels and cleaning supplies and baking supplies...were suddenly the hottest commodities in town. The stores were ravaged and shelves everywhere were empty for months.

Here we are today. It's easier to find toilet paper now, but the world is still in lockdown and forever altered. More importantly, attitudes have been altered. Relationships have been altered. Families have been altered. Some in good ways. Some in frightening ways.

I long for the "good ol' days". The days of freedom, unity, hope, and honor. I hope and pray our nation and our world are on the mend as vaccines become more readily available and more and more people realize they were inspired and save lives.

In the meantime, I'm thankful that my favorite stress management and self-care services have been able to safely reopen. There's nothing better than a high-quality therapeutic massage to take the edge off the stress and bring me back to earth. Massage therapy isn't just a luxury experience for the rich and famous. It's a tremendous way to reset, relax, and recharge amidst all the craziness and stress going on in our world.

Here's to looking forward to the rest of 2021 and creating a world that makes more sense!
